Service of Confirmation and Baptism

On Sunday 8th April at 6:00pm a group of young people will be baptised/confirmed in the Church of God.

Baptism is a sign of becoming a Christian, and involves a public ‘confession’ that you believe in Jesus and want to follow him.

Confirmation is an opportunity for those who were baptized as babies on the basis of their parent’s confession, to “confirm” this baptism for themselves.

The confirmation and baptism service provides an opportunity for each person to publicly declare their allegiance to Jesus, their rejection of all that is opposed to Him, and their commitment to the Christian Faith.

Our regional bishop (Peter Hayward) will preach, and pray for God to strengthen each person to continue to press on in living for Christ in all of life.

This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate what God has done for us in Jesus, and what he has done in the lives of these people. Even if you can’t be there at the service, please give thanks to God and pray that each one would continue to follow Jesus for the rest of their lives.
