From Jannali to Mexico

A team of 10 people from our church have just returned from Mexico.

They have been partnering with our link missionaries, the Sholl family, serving the church in Monterrey. Although the culture gap was significant, guided by the Sholls and the pastors of the church, the team was able to offer themselves and the gospel, to the people.

After a long trip and a few days of recovery and orientation, the team led a training day for Sunday School teachers. Around 80 attended, from 8 different churches. The aim was to help each one to be more confident to understand and teach a passage of Scripture with a focus on Jesus and in light of the context.

Next up was “Formando Lideres” – a 3 day training time for young leaders. Once again the aim was to further equip young leaders to be able to read and teach the Bible well, especially in small groups. The training included Bible teaching from Peter Sholl from Ephesians.

Then after a few days off with the Sholl family, last Saturday Cameron Hyslop had the opportunity to proclaim the gospel to a group of youth, inviting them to follow Jesus.

The team return weary, and having suffered some sickness, but with much rejoicing in their partnership with the Sholls, and strengthened by their experience of God’s work in his people in Mexico.

You can read detailed reports and see lots of photos here.

Please thank God for the opportunity the team have had, and pray for an ongoing benefit for each one, for the Sholls and for the church in Monterrey.
