Carol Gilbert is a member of our Saturday and Family Churches – but will soon leave us to serve in other places.
A student in 2nd year at Moore College, Carol has recently been recognized by Evangelism and New Churches (ENC) as a trainee evangelist. She already works as a student minister at St Andrew’s Cathedral and regularly visits Sydney University to share the gospel. The benefits of now being linked with ENC are support, training and a structure to manage donations to enable Carol to focus on prayer, evangelism and study at Moore College.
Carol says “ENC are involved with a lay chaplaincy initiative. Having had experience in aged care chaplaincy, I am hoping to assist with that and learn much about how to reach different people groups.”
Carol will also soon move into College accommodation in Newtown which is being specially modified to provide the accessibility she needs.
In the long term Carol would like to work in chaplaincy, evangelism among women or ministry to people with disabilities and their families.
Please thank God for Carol, for her ‘heart’ for people, for the gifts God has given her and for her courage in taking up the opportunities presented by ENC. Please pray that God will give Carol all that she needs to serve Him, and that he will work thorough her.
